The Diaconate Ministry comprises the Deacon and Deaconess Ministries of Friendship Baptist Church. Deacons and Deaconesses work hand-in-hand to provide spiritual support to the Pastor, ministerial staff and the congregation. The Diaconate Ministry serves by exercising spiritual leadership within the Church while counseling with the pastor and ministerial staff on concerns within the congregation and generally promotes harmony within the Church. The Diaconate Ministry also shares several other responsibilities including, but not limited to preparing the communion elements and assisting in the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper, visiting the sick and shut-in, assisting in baptism, serving in the in the Diaconate care ministry, supporting evangelism, assisting in prayer and Bible study groups and participating in other activities at the direction of the pastor.
