Reverend Hamilton is the 15th pastor to serve Friendship Baptist Church, which was established in 1919. He previously served as Associate Minister at Metropolitan New Testament Mission Baptist Church in Albany, New York, under the guidance of Reverend Damon P. Johnson. He is a graduate of the College of Saint Rose, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Religious Studies. He also, received a Masters Degree in Social Welfare from the Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs at SUNY Albany. He has pursued additional graduate work at the Colgate Divinity School, the Mid-Atlantic Baptist Theology Seminary and the New York Theological Seminary.

In his secular life, he is employed with the New York State Division of Parole where he works in the area of reintegrating former offenders into the community and previously worked in victim impact services. Rev. Hamilton resides with his wife, Nicole and two daughters.
